“That’s what the world is , after all: an endless battle of contrasting memories.” - Haruki Murakami

Memories fade, time passes, ignorant of all. There are some memories that contrast so much, with each other. The Place, the Time and the Sunshine remain the same. But the feelings and experiences of being there, change. With those feelings and experiences changing, you notice that you have changed too. For better or worse.

This poem is about two, such, memories. Both made at the shore. One filled with promises. The other with all sorts of realizations. The Waves, the Sands, the Rocks and the Sunshine - all remain the same. The Shell changes, I change, my feelings changed and a new experience created.
