Writing Prompt For

Day XXVII of NaNoWriMo:

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” - Lao Tzu

I often find myself slow. Time does not bother me much. Though sometimes it may be critical enough, it often happens that things just take time with me. This slowness might be interpreted as laziness, or worse yet - as procrastination, but I doubt those adjectives are involved. I rather tend to find that things have their own pace, of falling into their place. This has been the case for most of my life, and I know it will be the case going forward. I’ve written about this somewhat, but never fully understood the reason. Again, overthinking something is not my ball game. I give five minutes of thinking time for most decisions I make. More often than not, I’ve found that five minutes is more than enough time.

This ‘late blooming’ syndrome of mine, gives me ample time to juggle other things that may be happening, and may require my attention. Although, I’ll agree on the fact that this slowness may often off-put others around me. It may lead to relationships being deteriorated, especially when the other party involved happens to perceive the concept of time differently than I. I’ve come to terms with those relationships fading, as with everything with time. I often just make sure that if there’s something I start, I tend to finish it. Either by calling it quits, if for whatever reason I feel it may not work; or by going all the way through. In either case, I tend to give it all. Which, again, I am afraid is not apparent due to my slowness. I do not see that as a problem to fix, I am actually glad that I am slow, and I am actually glad that I do, and can accomplish anything I want.

I think today’s quote is a great writing prompt. What are your thoughts on today’s quote by Lao Tzu? If you find yourself writing, using today’s writing prompt then do share your writ by sharing a link below in the comments section; I really would love to read what you’ve written, and maybe include in a post on this blog.
