Writing Prompt For

Day XXIII of NaNoWriMo:

“If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn’t sit for a month.” - Theodore Roosevelt.

Let’s reflect back a little with this quote, and take it as a prompt to write a letter to ourselves maybe? or a blog post, or rather build an entire character based on this quote? Whatever it is, I think I can very well relate to this quote. If I think back, and recount the number of times I’ve gotten into trouble, and then try to see who, or what it was because of, then I know for a fact that the four fingers will be always pointing towards me. It sure is convenient to let go of that one finger, and let it point to someone, or something else out there, but let’s face it, it’s always we who have a knack of getting ourselves into trouble. And now if I had to sit down, and maybe make a character based on that I think he or she would be a funny one.

In fact, I think I am going to be using this quote as prompt, and do just that - sketch up a character who always seems to land into trouble because of who he is, and then blames someone, or something else when the entire world knows that it was him in the first place who’s responsible for whatever circumstances he’s in currently.

If you too find this quote interesting, and see yourself using it to write up something, then please do share a link below in a comment; I’d love to feature it in a post here on this blog.
