Here’s a great video, all about Times New Roman . It’s about how it’s perceived and its evolution. The Times New Roman serif typeface, was designed and made in 1931, by the British newspaper - The Times.

It’s one typeface, that has been used in all mediums. It’s considered to be, one of the most legible typefaces. Suitable for both, on-screen and off-screen uses.

The Other Times Modern, is an interesting post, about the undocumented paperback version of the classic newspaper typeface. Definitely, worth a read.
