NaNoWriMO Writing Prompt - Day 29:

**You’re the world’s second best swordsman, and are in the process to become the world’s best. You’ve had your duels with your arch-nemesis, who currently holds the first place. In fact you’ve had about 999 duels with him so far, to win the coveted position of number one. Each of those times, you’ve been beaten, and thus still remain as the second best to this day.

Your last, and final duel is coming up in the next 180 days. There are a lot of things you need to do before you think you’re ready for it. And, if you lose this duel you’ve made a promise to yourself that you’ll end up giving your sword. Your arch-nemesis, the number one swordsman in the world, knows about this promises, and secretly confuses to his loved ones that if that comes to pass, he’ll sorely miss the only man who could challenge him. You know that he knows. He knows that you know he knows.

What do you do to make sure this doesn’t happen? What do you give, to get the number one spot in the arena? What’s your mindset like, and what will it be like when you win, and lose?
